Make A Visit On Household Cavalry Museum

The Household Cavalry Museum, in the heart of Royal London at Horse Guards (official entrance to the Royal Residences) offers a truly enriching experience celebrating the history, heroes and exploits of the British Army’s senior regiment from its origins in 1661. Their fascinating history, dating back to the restoration of King Charles II in 1660, is manifested by a dazzling array of uniforms, arms, pictures and rare, highly prized artefacts elegantly showcased in the magnificent mid-18th century stables along with vivid explanatory graphic and interactive presentations. A large glass partitiuon gives visitors the opportunity to watch troopers attending to their horses in the working stables.
There is a variety of exhibits from the uniforms of centuries past to the present day, on the changing role of the household cavalry, on the ceremonial and active service roles it plays and the day to day life of a soldier in the household calvary. The Household Cavalry Museum opened in 2007 at the headquarters of the Queen's Life Guard. The Household Cavalry Museum offers you a unique "behind-the-scenes" look at the work that goes into the ceremonial duties and operational role of the Household Cavalry Regiments. Included is an impressive display of Household Cavalry headdresses, swords and firearms, while some of the many battle honours of the resgiment are illustrated by dioramas.
